Home match against the Wolves

Hannover 96 will begin the 2013/14 Bundesliga season with a home match. Their first league opponents on the second weekend in August will be VfL Wolfsburg. The Reds will follow that game with a trip to Borussia Mönchengladbach, before welcoming FC Schalke 04 and 1. FSV Mainz 05 to the HDI Arena for matchdays three and four respectively. The derby against promoted side Eintracht Braunschweig will be held on matchday 12 (November 8th-10th 2013) in Hanover. The first half of the season ends with an away game against SC Freiburg (December 20th-22nd 2013).

Season resumes at the end of January

The first game following on from the winter break will be held between January 24th and 26th 2014 with an away game in Wolfsburg. The 2013/14 season will yet again end with a home game, this time with SC Freiburg as the visitors.

Reaction to the fixture list

96-president Martin Kind: “It’s great to open up with a derby match at home. It’s the fourth year in a row that we’ll be starting the season in our own stadium. I hope we can start the season with a win against a strong opponent.”
