NIEMALSALLEIN

Hannover 96 were overwhelming victors in their first friendly match of the 2013/14 season, with a 14-0 win over local team TSV Berenbostel. The top scorers in front of 2,000 spectators were Deniz Kadah and Jan Schlaudraff each with a hat-trick. Leo Bittencourt and Adrian Nicki both scored twice. The rest of goals came from Edgar Prib, Christian Schulz, Szabolcs Huszti and an André Hoffmann penalty.

Friendly on the door step

Hannover 96 didn’t have to travel far for their first friendly of the 2013/14 season. 15 kliometres from their home ground, Mirko Slomka and his team headed to TSV Berenbostel to celebrate the hosts’ 100-year anniversary.

7-0 at the break

Led out by captain Christian Schulz, Hannover were keen to enjoy the occasion but not give any gifts away. New signing Leo Bittencourt opened the scoring in the tenth minute before Kadah (11’) and Edgar Prib (13’) made it three quickly afterwards. Berenbostel battled back but it was Hannover who created the chances with Huszti, Prib and Kadah all going close. Bittencourt’s long-range effort brought about the 4-0, before Schulz (33’), Huszti (36’) and Kadah (38’) made it seven at the break.

Hannover regularly threatened from the set-piece

Lots of goals, great atmosphere

Four changes at the break for both sides and the second half began as the first finished. Adrian Nikci and a penalty from André Hoffmann made it 9-0 before Hannover found themselves under a little pressure. A TSV free kick just went over young Konstantin Fury’s goal. In the last 25 minutes, Jan Schlaudraff took centre stage bagging a hat-trick, including an impressive lob. The last two goals fell to Kadah and Nikci before there were celebrations all around as TSV manager Kevin Feldmann brought himself on to stand between the posts for the last ten minutes.

Opportunity for the hosts but just over.

The Reds next friendly will be on the coming Saturday at 16:00 CET against TSV Krähenwinkel Kaltenweide. After that the team will depart on Sunday morning to the
