It's now official: Constant Djakpa is joining Hannover 96 on a two year loan from Bayer Leverkusen.

Transfer confirmed today
The story has been doing the rounds on the rumour mill of late, but it was only today that the loan of Constant Djakpa from Leverkusen to Hannover 96 was officially confirmed. The Ivory Coast international joins for a two year spell. "Constant Djakpa is an accomplished technical left-back. He will really improve our back-line" enthused 96 sporting director Jörg Schmadtke. The 22 year old becomes the second player to join the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, following in the footsteps of Karim Haggui.

Kurioser Karriereweg
The 22 year old's career path to date can only be described as unusual. he left his home town club Stella Club d'Adjamé in 2006, joining Norwegian side Club Sogndal IL. He moved to Pandurii Targu-Jiu in Romania's first division for 2007/2008, where his impressive performances captured the interest of Bayer Leverkusen, whom he joined in 2008. Djakpa has made a total of 9 Bundesliga appearances to date.
