NIEMALSALLEIN

Dieter Hecking's side today returned from their successful training camp,in which they were schooled on a new 4-4-2 system. Now they can start tolookforward to testing themselves against on of Europe's top teams in the AWD-Arena on Wednesday the 29th July. The opposition for the Reds final friendly before the start of the new season is Arsenal FC, adding to the list of major clubs that have visited hannover in recent years. The occassion will also mark Michael Tarnat's official farewell to the club.

One of the Premier League's big four in Hannover
With 13 titles to their name, Arsenal are one of England's most successful club sides, who along with Liverpool FC, Manchester United and Chelsea FC make up the premier League's 'big four'. Arsenal reached the Champions League final in 2006, and with young stars Cesc Fabregàs, Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Eboué and Gaël Clichy made it as far as the semi-final of the same competition last season, where they lost to holders Manchester United.

Big blow to pre-season preparations

While Hannover 96 enjoyed a successful training camp in Bad Kleinkirchheim which saw a fit, focussed squad return to home today, the same cannot be said for Arsenal's camp in Bad Waltersdorf. The Gunners young star Samir Nasri suffered a broken leg in an accident in training, meaning the Frenchman will not only miss the Hannover clash but also the opening games of the new season.

4-4-2 put to the test
Alongside some serious fitness training and plenty of work on the new 4-4-2 system, the 96 players took part in two friendlies in Bad Kleinkirchheim against 1. FC Köln and Wigan Athletic. The new tactical set-up brought a return of two draws, and it will now really be put to the test against a top club, and the fans will be hoping their heroes can produce a repeat of 2007's match against Real Madrid: a 3-0 win!

Be there for the match!
